What Is Restorative Dentistry?
Restorative dentistry covers any treatment that repairs a damaged tooth or replaces a missing one. Some patients need a quick fix, such as a filling, while others need a plan that combines several treatments over time. Because Dr. Rigby is a prosthodontist, he is trained to look at the whole picture, including your bite, your gums, and the way your teeth fit together, before recommending anything. Our restorative services include:
- Dental Fillings
- Dental Crowns
- Dental Implants
- Dental Bridges
- Dentures
- Full-Mouth Restorations
- Laser Gum Treatment
Whatever your situation, we explain each option clearly so you can choose the care that fits your goals and your budget.
Dental Fillings
A filling repairs a tooth damaged by decay. Our team places tooth-colored composite fillings that blend with your natural teeth and usually require less healthy tooth to be removed; we also place amalgam fillings when they are the better choice. We talk through the options for each tooth so you can choose with confidence.
Dental Crowns
When a tooth has too little structure left to hold a filling, or it has cracked or worn down, a dental crown can cover it to restore its strength, shape, and appearance. Each crown is custom-designed to match the surrounding teeth, and dentists also use crowns to cover implants and anchor bridges.
Gum Disease Treatment
Healthy gums are the foundation of every restoration. If gum disease is a concern, we offer laser gum treatment, which allows us to target affected areas precisely and is generally less invasive than traditional periodontal treatment, with shorter recovery times.
Do You Offer Root Canals?
Dr. Rigby does not perform root canal therapy. If one of your teeth needs a root canal, we can help coordinate your care with a trusted provider, and we are glad to restore the tooth afterward with a crown. That way, you still receive complete care from a team that knows your history.
How Much Does Restorative Dentistry Cost?
Cost depends on the treatment, the number of teeth involved, and the materials used. We review your plan at your consultation so you know what to expect. We file your insurance paperwork as a courtesy, and we offer CareCredit and in-house payment plans. Our patient resources outline every option.
