Get to Know Your Harrisonburg Dental Team
Choosing a dental office means trusting someone with your comfort, your time, and your health. It helps to know who is behind the schedule, what training they bring, and what the space feels like before you ever sit in the chair.
Rockingham ProDental is a Harrisonburg practice led by prosthodontist Dr. Brent Rigby, offering dental services from routine cleanings to advanced restorations. We are proud members of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, and the Shenandoah Valley Dental Association. Dr. Rigby is also a member of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP), and we invite you to get to know our team and our office.

Meet Dr. Rigby
Dr. Rigby grew up in a small, family-oriented town in Northern Utah and earned a bachelor’s degree in medical biology at the University of Utah. He then attended The Ohio State University, where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery, completed postgraduate prosthodontic training, and received prosthodontic certification and a Master of Science degree in dental materials.
After graduating, Dr. Rigby moved to Austin, Texas, and spent a decade building a prosthodontic practice and growing his family. He later chose the Shenandoah Valley and has called the “Friendly City” of Harrisonburg home for several years, where he is one of only a few prosthodontists serving the area.
Dr. Rigby believes you should understand every option before you decide. He explains the benefits, trade-offs, and costs in plain language, and our on-site lab and digital scanner let him shape each restoration around you, from dental implants to full-mouth rebuilds.
Away from the office, he is a father of four who enjoys hands-on projects, audiobooks, hiking, and fishing, and he brings that same patience to your care. We would be glad to meet you and help you plan your next step, and you can start by using our contact form.
Dental Technology
We use modern tools every day to make your visits more efficient and more comfortable. These tools may mean shorter appointments, faster diagnoses, and less invasive treatment. Our technology includes:
- Air Abrasion removes small areas of tooth decay with precision and without a drill
- DIAGNOdent uses laser fluorescence to detect early signs of decay inside teeth
- Intraoral Camera captures clear digital images of your teeth and gums
- Isolite suction removes saliva hands-free and reduces aerosols and spatter during treatment
- Laser Therapy supports laser gum treatment and may reduce gum swelling
- Panoramic X-Rays show how your teeth and jaw fit together in one view
We also have a full lab and a digital scanner on site. Dr. Rigby is hands-on with the lab work, which lets him select the materials for your restoration and helps keep turnaround times quick. Because the work is custom to you, each restoration is made with your bite, your smile, and your goals in mind.
Sedation Options for a Relaxed Visit
Dental sedation is not only for advanced restorative treatment. Whether you need a filling, an implant placement, or a routine cleaning and exam, sedation may help you relax in the chair. Dental fear is common, and a systematic review of dental fear in adults estimated that about 14 percent of adults experience some level of it.
Our sedation options include:
- Nitrous Oxide is a gas breathed through a mask, with quick effects and a fast wear-off
- Oral Conscious Sedation is a prescribed pill taken beforehand, and you need a ride home
If you feel nervous about any part of your care, tell our team, and we can talk through the option that best suits you. After treatment, we can also use OraVerse, an injection that reverses the effects of local anesthetic and reduces numbness quickly.
